The meaning of http and https
HTTP stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol While HTTPS Stands for Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure.
The main difference between Http:// and Https:// is all about keeping you secure on the internet the "S" is the big surprise ,it stands for "Secure" ,You know that as an internet user if you visit a website or webpage and look at the address in the web browser it will likely begin with the following Http:// or Https:// ,this means that the website is talking to your browser using the regular unsecured language. In other words ,it is possible for somebody to eavesdrop on your computers conversation with the website. for example if you fill a form on the website somebody might see the information you send to that site ,this is why i would advise you never to enter your credit card number in an http website but if the web address begins with https:// that basically means your computer is talking to the website in a secured code that no one can eavesdrop on.
I think you now know why this is important, so if a website ever asks you to enter your credit card information you should make sure to see if the web address begins with https:// if it dose not you should never enter your sensitive information on them such as you credit card information or any other information that is very vital to you.
Just saw this some where and i thought it would be good if i share with my my blog viewers and follows.
